Forever 21 gets new Vice President, HR

She will oversee Forever 21’s human resources operations including talent acquisition, leadership and organizational development, business partner support, culture and employee engagement, benefits and compensation.
Forever 21 gets new Vice President, HR

Forever 21 announced that Shannon Knupp has been named Vice President of Human Resources, effective November 20, 2019. Knupp will oversee Forever 21’s human resources operations including talent acquisition, leadership and organizational development, business partner support, culture and employee engagement, benefits and compensation. As Vice President of Human Resources, Knupp will report directly to Forever 21’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Don Chang.

With an impressive track record of leading and executing strong human resources programs we are confident that she will be a vital addition to our team as we continue to focus on our go-forward strategy and building a stronger business,” said Don Chang, Chief Executive Officer.

With over 20 years of experience, Knupp joins Forever 21 from Beachbody, LLC where she served as Group Vice President Human Resources and was responsible for overseeing HR business partners, employee relations, compliance, total rewards and HR information systems. Previously, she served as Director of Compensation, Benefits and Compliance for Guitar Center, Inc. Knupp also held various human resource positions at University Village Thousand Oaks, Tolman & Wiker Insurance and EarthShell Corp/E. Khashoggi Industries. 

Knupp stated, “I am looking forward to working with the entire Forever 21 organization and to drive all workforce and cultural initiatives for the Company, as Forever 21 continues to build and implement a stronger foundation to support their business for years to come.”

Knupp holds a Masters of Studies in Human Resources Law from Wake Forest University School of Law; a Master of Arts in Organizational Management and Development from Antioch University Santa Barbara; and a Bachelors of Art in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Asheville. She also has a number of professional certifications including, Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). In addition Knupp is currently pursuing her certificate for Certified Compensation Specialist (CCP).
